A medical laboratory or clinical laboratory is a laboratory where tests are done on clinical specimens in order to get information about the health of a patient as pertaining to the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of disease. A dental laboratory makes and repairs dentures, crowns, bridges, and dental implants. Dental technicians seldom work directly with patients, but instead work with dentists who make impressions of the patient's teeth and gums and provide detailed instructions needed to produce dental prosthetics that look good and function well. A dental lab may employ anywhere from two to 200 people.
